Vitamin C

Vitamin C is also an excellent vitamin for good skin and hair care. Like Vitamin E it is an antioxident and works in a similar fashion to Vitamin E. Although it is not likely to allow for the new growth of lost hair it should help to maintain hair. A dosage of 500 mg to 1000 mg taken orally on a daily basis is ideal to maintain hair. It should be stressed that a good water intake to accompany the intake of vitamin C is necessary to avoid the development of kidney stones.

Sources: Vitamin C can be found in the following foods naturally:

  1. Broccoli
  2. Cantaloupes
  3. Cauliflower

  5. Kale
  6. Mangoes
  7. Peppers including sweet, red, and green
  8. Potatoes
  9. Spinach
  10. Strawberries
  11. Tomatoes

Toxicity: Possible reactions to vitamin C include:

  1. Diarrhea
  2. Abdominal cramps
  3. Sleep disturbance
  4. Nausea
  5. Vomiting

If any other symptoms or signs are displayed that concern you, do not hesitate to consult your doctor immediately.
